[English description below] Call for Sounds: Sound Cinema Düsseldorf Düsseldorf, 10.06.2021, Einreichung bis 31.03.2021 Das Sound Cinema Düsseldorf ist ein Recorded‐Sound‐Festival für experimentelle Musik und elektroakustische Klangkunst, das am 10.06.2021 zum dritten Mal im Filmkunstkino Cinema stattfindet. Das Festival erstreckt sich über einen Abend, an dem zehn ausgewählte Einreichung präsentiert und anschließend durch eine Fachjury und das Publikum prämiert werden (2 Jurypreise, 1 Publikumspreis). Essenzieller Bestandteil der Veranstaltung ist die an den Kinosaal angelehnte Hörsituation: Die durch die räumliche und technische Anordnung geschaffene Wahrnehmung versetzt die Hörenden in die ungewohnte Situation, aufgenommene Klänge gemeinschaftlich konzentriert anzuhören. Gesucht werden musikalische Kompositionen, Klangcollagen, Klangexperimente, Soundscapes und narrative Audioformate, die sich durch einen transgressiven und futuristischen Impetus auszeichnen und den Versuch unternehmen, konventionelle Hörerfahrungen zu unterlaufen. Dazu zählen auch technoide und pop‐avantgardistische Formen. Beiträge können entweder für die freie Kategorie oder für den diesjährigen Themenschwerpunkt „Isolation“ eingereicht werden. English Description Call for Sounds: Sound Cinema Düsseldorf 2021 Düsseldorf, Germany, on June 10th 2021, Application Deadline: March 31st 2021 The recorded audio festival Sound Cinema Düsseldorf is calling for audio contributions. The Sound Cinema Düsseldorf is a recorded sound festival for experimental music and electroacoustic sound art that will take place on June 10th 2021 at the Filmkunstkino Cinema in Düsseldorf, Germany. On the day of the event, a selection of ten audio productions, which has been carefully picked by a selection panel, will be presented. At the end of the evening, two jury awards and one audience award will be awarded. Inspired by the perceptual conditions of the cinema, the Sound Cinema creates an environment for collective listening of recorded sound. An essential component of the event is the listening situation, which is based on the cinema: The perceptual dispositiv created by the spatial and technical arrangement puts the listeners in the unusual situation of listening to recorded sounds in a concentrated way. We are looking for musical compositions, soundscapes, sound collages, sonic experiments and narrative audio formats that are characterized by a transgressive and futuristic impetus and attempt to undermine conventional listening experiences. This also includes technoid and pop-avantgardistic approaches. Contributions can be submitted either for the free category or for the thematic focus „Isolation“.
